On Tuesday night, I was taking the dog for a quick walk at 6 o’clock out the front door when she decided to run across the driveway into the neighbor’s yard, taking me with her. I didn’t even get to step on any of the steps, as I was pulled into the air and landed on the driveway. It required a 911 phone call and my first ever ride in an ambulance to get to the hospital where I later found out that I had a fractured heel bone through and through, and that if not taken care of properly, I would have a limp for the rest of my life. Also, I had a fractured clavicle, which is the bone that connects to your shoulder from your chest also called the collar bone. Both injuries on the left side of my body, changed my way of life for the next 120 days.
I have shared a few photos of my time living at The Pearl Skilled Nursing Facility and those of Olli my dog. On the Contact Me page, just click on the photo to send me an email.
I wanted to thank all the doctors and nurses, emergency professionals who got me to the hospital, then to the Skilled Nursing and then home and all the therapists (to many to name) who got me back on my feet. As well as my friends and neighbors who exceeded their time in helping Olli and Me. To my friends, mention that you read this and I will be happy to take you out to lunch or dinner a few times. I like Moretti’s and believe you will, too.
